Oberer Realty Services said it has finalized a lease with an R Taco franchisee to open a 3,000-square-foot restaurant at 2760 Towne Drive across from the Mall at Fairfield Commons. The 6,300-square-foot building was purchased by Oberer in June, and now has 3,300 square feet remaining available for lease.

“The Beavercreek retail and restaurant market is very active, and we are confident that we will find a quality tenant for the remainder of the building soon,” Chris Conley, president Oberer Realty Services, said in a release.

The R Taco announcement had been somewhat expected, since the chain, which opened its first location on Brown Street near the University of Dayton in March 2017, had previously applied for a license to serve alcohol at the address of the former Caddy’s Tap House.

John Slaughenhaupt, spokesman for the Ohio franchisee of R Taco, said construction of the new restaurant has begun.
“We are looking at a late October opening,” Slaughenhaupt told this news outlet. David Fisher and Eric Lundgren are Slaughenhaupt’s equal partners in the R Taco franchise venture.
The new Beavercreek restaurant will seat about 125 — 75 inside and 50 on a patio. The new restaurant will employ about 50.
The Dallas, Texas-based street-taco restaurant chain, which operates 30 restaurants in seven states, announced in November 2017 that it had signed a multi-unit agreement with Dayton-based franchise owner ThreeWitt Enterprises Inc. to greatly expand R Taco’s footprint across central and southwest Ohio.

The Cadillac Jacks location at the Beavercreek site transformed into Caddy’s Tap House, with 47 craft-beer taps, a new food menu, and a significant makeover to its interior, in September 2014. But it shut its doors in May 2018.
