AL.com reported that there was no food or water inside the car.  The vehicle was not running.

Authorities received a call about the dog around 12:30 p.m. and responded to find it inside the vehicle, which was not running and had the windows cracked about an inch. By the time they were able to remove the dog, it had died.

Rogers, who was not found until several hours after the incident, was arrested, charged with aggravated animal cruelty and taken to Bay County Jail. When questioned about the incident, Rogers told police she left the dog in the car while she cleaned condos.
