New York police are offering a reward for information on the person who abandoned a small dog last month in a trash compactor on the Lower East Side.
A New York City Housing Authority employee found the dog around 8:35 a.m. on March 30 in the Vladeck Houses public housing development, WCBS reported.
Authorities told the news station that it appears the dog was dropped down a trash chute and into the trash compactor from an unknown floor. It was not immediately clear how long the dog was in the trash, authorities told WNBC.
Officers did not immediately provide information on the dog’s condition.
