10-year-old escapes after man drags him behind home

Police in Hall County Georgia are seeking a man who attempted to abduct a 10-year-old boy Tuesday afternoon.

At about 4 p.m., deputies responded to a home in Gainesville, Georgia, Hall County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Stephen Wilbanks said in a news release on Wednesday. Authorities said the boy was taking a booster seat to his mother’s vehicle in the driveway when an unknown man approached him from behind.

“The perpetrator grabbed the victim and began dragging him toward the back of an adjacent home,” Wilbanks said, “But due to the level of resistance being offered by the victim, the perpetrator let go after a short distance.”

Sebastian Solache, who has three years of karate training, fought him off and ran back into his home, the Hall County Sheriff's Office said, according to WSB.

The boy ran back into his home and told his mother, who called 911.

Wilbanks said police dogs tracked the man but lost him.

The man is described as about 6 feet tall and of medium build, Wilbanks said. He was wearing black jeans, a white shirt and had his face covered with a black cloth.

The boy sustained minor scrapes and bruises, Wilbanks said. He was checked out by emergency crews at the scene.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call investigators at 770-531-6879.
