Here's the catch: Jim Rice, the owner of Jan's Used Furniture, in Griffin, didn't get the memorabilia the way you might expect.

Rice said he recently purchased a storage unit that belonged to Owens, who was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2018 after a 15-year career in the National Football League. The storage unit was auctioned off when Owens stopped making payments to the company. Rice said he paid $4,000 for the contents of the unit.

There were some pretty cool items in the unit, like playbooks, football cleats, autographed helmets, clothes and a nondisclosure agreement from an apparent party hosted by Owens.

"You never know what you're going to find behind those doors," Rice said.

Rice said Owens' unit is at least the 20th that he has purchased that used to belong to a celebrity.

According to Rice, a lot of Owens' items have already sold.

"You better run fast to get some of these items," Rice said.

Rice said he's now "making bank."

"Come on down and we'll make you a good deal," Rice said.
