A Tim Horton’s restaurant on Ohio 725 in Washington Twp. has shut down.

Customers of the restaurant at 665 Miamisburg-Centerville Road (Ohio 725) earlier this week encountered locked doors and signs saying simply, “This location is closed. Please visit one of our other Dayton locations.” Brown paper covers the interior windows of the restaurant’s dining area.

A person who answered the phone at the Washington Twp. Tim Hortons restaurant this morning declined comment on the closing, referring questions to corporate representatives. Messages left with Tim Hortons officials today, May 4 have not been returned.

The Washington Twp. store was NOT among those operated by a local franchisee that has committed to expanding the Tim Horton’s brand throughout the Dayton-Springfield area.

Ampex Brands, the franchisee for Dayton-area Tim Hortons locations, has added three Dayton-area Tim Hortons locations in the last six months, including a Riverside location at 1975 Harshman Road, just north of Stebbins High School last month.

Two others opened in late December: at 3010 Kettering Blvd. just south of West Dorothy Lane in Moraine, and at 1998 W. Main St. near Meijer in Troy. And three more are in various stages of development, Ampex officials said.

The openings are part of an expansion that could bring seven to 10 new Tim Hortons locations over the next three years, company officials have said.
