Talk about an encore performance: The long-shuttered Fairborn Theatre will host a Chick-fil-A pop-up lunch operation starting next week, Fairborn City Manager Rob Anderson said today, Oct. 4.
The theater’s marquee — echoing Chick-fil-A’s marketing slogan — already reads, “Eat Mor Chikin.”

Chick-fil-A contacted Fairborn officials regarding demand for its food in the Fairborn and Wright-Patterson Air Force Base community, Anderson said.
“We are currently exploring future options for a permanent location here in Fairborn,” the city manager said.
The pop-up lunches will start Oct. 10 and will be available weekdays only, Anderson said.
The area near Broad and Main streets has been a particular focus of the city, which has purchased and torn down four motels in the Broad Street area to pave the way for re-development. City officials have said they want to re-develop the theater, not shut it down.
