Fisher said the new brewery will specialize in craft beer and hard cider, and also will make its own wines and gluten-free craft beers.

Fisher and business partners Mike Meholick and Greg Cason had looked for a suitable space in downtown Dayton and in suburbs south of Dayton, but ultimately turned their attention to Huber Heights, where Meholick and Cason both live.
“It’s been a long process,” Fisher said.

Plans call for a 100-seat taproom. The brewery will initially serve only its own beers, ciders and wines, and it will have the equipment to can and bottle, Fisher said. If all goes well with licensing and construction, Alematic Artisan Ales could open as soon as late spring or early summer of 2018.

The brewery co-founder said the Huber Heights area is thirsty for its own craft brewery. “There are not a lot of breweries north” of Dayton, he said.
More than a dozen craft breweries have opened in the Dayton region in the last six years, and more are in the works, including in Xenia and on Wayne Avenue in Dayton.

The Huber Center also houses a license bureau and a public library.
“That would be a great location for that business,” Huber Heights Assistant City Manager Scott Falkowski told this news outlet this morning. “This fits well within the Brandt Pike Revitalization Study area and complements the results that were presented.”
