Winners will be honored at a luncheon at Sinclair Community College on Friday, Sept. 26.
About 200 people or organizations from the greater Dayton area — Montgomery, Clark, Greene, Miami, Darke, Preble, Butler and Warren counties included — have been inducted since the walk was launched in 1996 as part of the Dayton bicentennial celebration.
HOW ARE INDUCTEES SELECTED?
A committee appointed by Wright Dunbar Inc., a private non-profit that manages the walk, selects the inductees, Tony Sculimbrene, said.

An objective points tallying system is used, he said.
“We have a group of community leaders that are judges,” Sculimbrene said. “They review all of the applications.”
The walk honors individuals or groups who have spent a significant amount of time in the region and have made an enduring impact on the local community, the region, the nation and/or the world, organizers say.
WHERE IS THE WALK?
The Walk and its memorial stone markers are located on the sidewalks on both sides of West Third Street between Shannon and Broadway streets and on Williams Street in the Wright Dunbar Historic District.

WHO IS ON THE WALK?
A who's who of Dayton history is on the walk — from the airplane inventors Wilbur and Orville Wright to Nancy Cartwright, internationally known as the voice of Bart Simpson.

"We know there are many in business, community service and other activities who deserve to be recognized. The region's Walk of Fame provides recognition to those who are worthy and helps motive a new generation to do great things," said Harry Seifert, Wright Dunbar Inc. president and chairman.

The 2018 inductees were newly Oscar-nominated "Black Panther" production designer Hannah Beachler; award- winning filmmaker Julia Reichert; medical device inventor Dr. Richard DeWall, Dayton Police sergeants Lucius and Dora Rice; sculptor Robert C. Koepnick and U. S. Army Maj. Gen. George Crook, a Civil War veteran and civil rights advocate.
