If a Philadelphia-based business has its way, you won’t have to leave your house to get munchies, condoms AND beer in Dayton.

>> NEW DETAILS: Plans for new delivery service move forward

GoPuff, a delivery service app that operates in more than 30 cities including Athens, Columbus and Cleveland, has applied for permits to sell carryout beer, wine and mixed beverages in the Dayton area, according to information provided by Lindsey LeBerth, a spokeswoman for the Ohio Department of Commerce.

LeBerth said there are no permits for wine and mixed drink sales available, but it will take about 10 to 12 weeks for permits for beer and Sunday sales to work through the process.

Elizabeth Romaine, communications director for GoPuff, a GoBrands company, said GoPuff is rolling out its service in Dayton and will officially launch after the permit process is complete.

It will deliver convenience store items ranging from condoms and emergency contraceptives to Hot Pockets and NyQuil in the market regardless of the results of the permit process, she said.

“We have several markets that are non-alcohol delivery,” Romaine added.

GoPuff’s target delivery area includes much of Dayton — the University of Dayton and downtown’s historic  neighborhoods included  — plus Oakwood and a portion of Moraine.

“We deliver in the moments that matter most. Anything you need, we will deliver to you,” Romaine said. “(We) do really well in college markets. With the university (University of Dayton) there, it could be really helpful.”

The company is operating locally at 125 Auto Club Drive in Dayton.

Romaine said GoPuff is in the hiring and training stage locally.

There will be a flat $1.95 delivery charge for orders less than $49. Orders $49 and more will be delivered free.

“All of our prices are really competitive to what a convenience store (offers),” Romaine said.
