"To all of our followers: Our lease on the current location will be up at the end of the month," the owners of Rivertown Chili wrote on the restaurant's Facebook page. "This is our last weekend for service. So all the regulars (and you know who you are), we look forward to the privilege of serving you one more time; for those who haven't been in for a while, stop by and say hello/goodbye; for anyone that has never been in but wanted to give us a try ... last chance."

Owners Brian Walusis, Mark Walusis, Tim Upon and Neana Wilson said In an email to this news outlet that there is “still a possibility of reaching a last-minute agreement with our landlord, but it has to make financial sense for both parties.”

“Miamisburg has been good to us, and we are not opposed to staying here under the right circumstances. We are also interested in the 2nd Street Market (in downtown Dayton) if we can get a spot there. We think that would be a nice fit.”

“Until our next move becomes clearer we will continue to cook up kettles of our Clashmore Red and John's Dayton (chilis) and be available for catering and special events. ... One door closes and another opens.”
Rivertown Chili opened a year ago, with seating for 30 inside and as many as 20 more on a porch and patio.

At the time, co-founder Brian Walusis said he and his father John had been participating in chili cook-offs around the region for more than 30 years.
“The recipes that we are using are craft chili recipes that have received awards in competitions as well as various iconic chili recipes made famous throughout different regions of the country,” Brian Walusis said.
