Coronavirus: These Ohio industries can reopen starting today

More businesses will have the greenlight to start reopening today, though there’s a list of social protections they must implement to reduce the risk of the coronavirus spreading.

Manufacturing, distribution and construction will reopen today.

Some of the conditions for reopening include that businesses must conduct daily health assessments for employees. Good hygiene must be enforced at all times, including social distancing. They must sanitize all surfaces routinely. Businesses must also limit capacity in facilities to meet social distancing guidelines.

General offices can also start to open using the same rules as those above for manufacturing, distribution and construction.

To help protect those who are out, employers are urged to keep everyone who can work from home still working from home.

More details about when restaurants and hair salons can reopen should be available this week, Gov. Mike DeWine had said. The governor also said more details will be released Monday about testing.

The state is putting together different groups for industries that have yet to reopen to look at best practices and ways to get those industries to resume operations. Some of the groups include childcare, professional sports, hair salons, restaurants, the arts and gyms.
