Our area has sent dozens to the Olympic Games over the years, including Middletown's Kayla Harrison and New Madison's Clayton Murphy this year.

But there’s one other person, albeit in a nonathletic capacity, representing the area in Rio. Of course, don’t tell anyone in the restaurant business what they do isn’t athletic.

Joe Buelow of Dayton is being rewarded for his hard work as General Manager of the York Commons McDonald's with an all-expense-paid trip starting next week. He was among 35 employees selected nationwide for dedication to customer service.

Buelow and 34 other employees from McDonald's in the U.S. will have a chance to explore the area, attend sporting events and meet employees from different countries.
