5 restaurants that are coming to the Dayton area soon

There’s SO much to be excited about in 2018 if you’re a foodie living in Dayton.

Local restaurants are expanding, notable chains are potentially coming to the area for the first time and one brand new, hyper local restaurant will open the first location of its kind.

Here are the 5 restaurants coming to the Dayton area soon.

🥪 Flyboys Deli

The new Flyboys Deli in the works in Beavercreek is still navigating the maze of final inspections that are necessary to open and has pushed pack its opening date.

The restaurant’s owners are now targeting Jan. 5 for its grand opening — but that date is not set in stone, Flyboys Deli co-owner Steve Crandall said.

🍔 Wahlburgers restaurants

Wahlburgers restaurants — the burger chain co-owned by actor Mark Wahlberg and his brothers — are coming to some Meijer stores in Ohio.

A Wahlburgers release announced “new restaurant sites to be located on out lots near various Meijer stores” located in Michigan and Ohio. Wahlburgers also will bring its new food trucks to “select” Meijer locations, the burger chain’s officials said in a release.

🍖 Dickey’s Barbecue Pit

The nation’s largest barbecue restaurant chain has its sights set on southwest Ohio, with plans to open as many as 10 more locations in the region.

The local franchise owners of Dickey’s Barbecue Pit , which opened its first Dayton-area location in Springboro just five weeks ago, are actively scouting out potential sites in areas such as Fairfield and Liberty Twp. with an eye toward growing the chain’s presence in a seven-county area in the southwest corner of the state.

🍴 Basil's on Market

Basil’s on Market, which operates restaurants in Troy and downtown Dayton, is headed south to a high-profile location, and has plans to add even more eateries.

“We are opening our third Basil’s on Market location in Mason,” Basil’s co-founder Jeff Finkelstein told this news outlet. “We have recently purchased the building that was formerly Brazenhead Irish Pub. We will be transforming this building into a Basil’s on Market.”

🍎 "The Sinful Orchard"

“The Sinful Orchard” — an independent restaurant that will focus strongly on local sourcing of its food — will open at The Greene Town Center.

The Sinful Orchard “is not a chain restaurant; it goes beyond the commonplace fare,” Shaine Sullivan, co-founder and general manager of the Sinful Orchard, wrote on the restaurant’s web site. “Specialties will include smoked meats, appetizers, daily specials, happy hour deals, drinks and more. Prepare to be blown away by the vast array of hand-crafted beers, some of which are currently not offered in this area. Wine and alcoholic beverages will also be on display for your consumption.”
