Food Network names Graeter’s Ice Cream flavor one of America’s Top 5

Graeter's most popular ice cream flavor has received national attention.

The Cincinnati-based company's Black Raspberry Chocolate Chip flavor was named America's fifth-best ice cream by Food Network, said Chip Graeter, chief of retail operations for the family-owned business, according to our news partner Dayton Daily News.

Graeter's was featured on the cable network's show "Top 5 Restaurants." The most recent show that aired Monday selected the best ice creams.

Here’s what Food Network had to say about it: “Graeter’s in Cincinnati is home to the world’s only French Pot Freezer. This old-fashioned machinery, plus the 18 percent butterfat content, makes their signature Black Raspberry Chocolate Chip Ice Cream dense and delicious — along with the combination of fresh black raspberry puree and bittersweet dark chocolate that’s drizzled into the creamy, custard-like base.”

“We’re the biggest little guy is what we are,” Graeter said. “It cements our place in respect to having some of the best ice cream you can find in the country.”
