Flyby BBQ in the Mall at Fairfield Commons introduces its first spiritous beverages

The independent and locally owned Flyby BBQ restaurant that opened in February at the Mall at Fairfield Commons will introduce its first spiritous drinks today, with a bit of a twist.

" ‘Adult Juice Pouches’ is what we are currently calling them,” Flyby’s founder, David Butcher, said of the new craft cocktails mixed and served in a juice-pouch-like container.

The restaurant will craft the drinks — which Butcher said are the equivalent of “doubles” in terms of alcoholic strength —  in small batches each day, using premium spirits. Prices will range from $7.50 to $9, the restaurant founder said.

The new cocktail mixes that will make their debut today will be Spiked Blueberry Lavender Lemonade, which contains vodka; Strawberry Margarita, which contains tequila; and Smoked Bourbon Peach Tea, containing bourbon. An Island Daiquiri with rum will likely be rotated into the selections soon, Butcher said.

Flyby is located between Fusian and Bravo Cucina Italiana near the Mall at Fairfield Commons’ front entrance. It is a “fast-casual” barbecue restaurant with a build-your-own-meal ordering system similar to Chipotle or Subway.
