“The Community Overdose Action Team (COAT) is partnering with Five Rivers MetroParks and the Recovery Alliance of Montgomery County to invite people in recovery and their families to enjoy nature at the park,” said Dan Suffoletto, public information supervisor for the health department. “And to instill a love of the outdoors that will help them along a path to recovery.”
The event will feature free food and soft drinks, live music, door prizes including a bike giveaway, animals from the Boonshoft Discovery Zoo, recovery speakers, and more.
Free RTA ride vouchers are available through any of the Recovery Alliance organizations: Alco-Aides, Families of Addicts, West Side Club, Dayton Fellowship Club, and Recovery Cafe Dayton.
