How to go: Memorial Day ceremonies, events today

There are several Memorial Day ceremonies happening throughout the area today.

  • Dayton: Dayton National Cemetery, next to the Dayton VA. Col. Bradley McDonald, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base Commander, will be the keynote speaker at this 11 a.m. ceremony.

  • Dayton: Stewart Street Bridge, Dayton. A POW/MIA wreath drop ceremony will happen in the middle of the Stewart Street Bridge in an 11 a.m. ceremony. U.S. Air Force Vice Commander of the 88th Air Base Wing Col. Dave R. Anzaldua will serve as the keynote speaker.
  • Centerville: The City of Centerville will host its annual Memorial Day ceremony at the Veterans Memorial in Stubbs Park, 225 W. Spring Valley Road, at 9 a.m.

  • Springfield: The 2018 Springfield Memorial Day Parade will start at 9 a.m. today near Veteran's Bridge. The Memorial Day ceremony and concert will be from 7 to 10 p.m. at Veteran's Park.
