Dunkin’ opened its seventh Dayton-area location less than three months ago in Washington Twp. and is gearing up to open its eighth doughnut shop in Fairborn.
“We are on target for mid-May soft opening, and for a mid-June grand opening,” a spokeswoman for Dunkin’ Donuts’ southwest Ohio franchisee said.

The 2,200 square-foot restaurant with drive-through service is under construction at 168 E. Dayton-Yellow Springs Road. The new store is hiring; interested persons can apply at gilliganoilcompany.com.

Pat Gilligan, the franchise owner for Dayton- and Cincinnati-area Dunkin’ Donuts, has said the Fairborn location has strong demographics and traffic counts.
Two additional Dunkin’ shops are in the works: on Harshman Road in Huber Heights and on North Fairfield Road in Beavercreek.

There are Dunkin’ locations in Kettering, Centerville, Sugarcreek Twp., Miami Twp., Riverside, Washington Twp. and Springfield. All but one of the existing shops (Miami Twp.) have opened in the last five years.

Prior to Gilligan’s franchise deal, Dunkin’ Donuts’ once-robust presence in the Dayton area had shrunk to one location on Springboro Pike (Ohio 741) near the Dayton Mall, which operates under separate franchise ownership.

Originally a doughnut and coffee chain, Dunkin’ Donuts has expanded its offerings in recent years to include frozen and iced beverages as well as bagels, muffins, breakfast sandwiches, bakery sandwiches and wraps.
