Condado Tacos has signed a lease to open its first Dayton-area location at The Greene Town Center, according to a spokeswoman for the Columbus-based restaurant chain.
Condado Tacos opened its first restaurant in Columbus in 2014 and has added locations in the Columbus, Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Indianapolis and Detroit areas. One of its Columbus-area restaurants is in Easton, a retail, residential and commercial development similar to The Greene.

There are no immediate plans to add more Miami Valley locations beyond the restaurant planned at The Greene, but Condado Tacos is “looking forward to being a member of the Dayton community,” Amanda Gibson, senior director of marketing for Condado Tacos, told this news outlet via email.
Plans call for a 3,859-square-foot restaurant that seats about 173 inside and another 80 on a patio, Gibson said. The new restaurant could open as soon as summer 2020, and will employ 60 to 80.

While confirming that a lease has been signed, Gibson said she could not disclose the address of the new restaurant. Steve Willshaw, general manager of The Greene Town Center, declined comment.
Condado Tacos says it specializes in creating “unique tacos, guacamole, tequila and margaritas at affordable prices. Fresh, high-quality ingredients including salsas, toppings, proteins and tortilla chips — all made from scratch daily — are staples to Condado’s cuisine.”

“Dayton is full of art, good food and local entertainment, and that’s what got us excited to open there in 2020,” Joe Kahn, founder and CEO of Condado Tacos, said in September, after the restaurant chain applied for a liquor license to operate in The Greene. “It’s a close neighbor to us in Columbus, so we’re looking forward to becoming a part of this community.
Another taco chain, Fuzzy’s Taco Shop, opened in a prominent location near the front entrance to the Greene in April 2018.
