McDonald’s restaurant shuts down everything but drive-through for 8-10 weeks

Large banners outside a McDonald’s restaurant in Kettering promise “a fresh new look” following a renovation project, and workers were busy gutting the interior today, March 19, the day after the restaurant’s lobby closed.

The interior seating and order counter of the McDonald’s restaurant at 1872 E. Stroop Road just west of Wilmington Pike in Kettering shut down Monday, March 18, for an estimated two to two-and-a-half months, while the restaurant’s drive-through window remains open.

The extensive renovation comes shortly after Wendy’s last year razed and rebuilt its restaurant around the corner on  Wilmington Pike. Another fast-food burger chain, Burger King, is building a new restaurant on Wilmington Pike near Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen and Wendy’s.
