While you’re enjoying the evening’s music, there will be plenty of law enforcement-themed activities to check out, as well. The Dayton police BAT car and bomb squad vehicle will be on display, in addition to a SWAT truck and a series of patrol cars that honor officers killed in the line of duty. You’ll also have a chance to visit with the National Night Out Knight and McGruff the Crime Dog. Miami Township K-9 officer Coron and his partner, police officer Doug Hesler, will put in an appearance, with a special demonstration for the crowd. And don’t forget to take your shot at the Dunk-a-Cop tank!
There also will be a Kids Corner, featuring crafts, coloring, games and prizes for the little ones. A raffle with two large prizes will be held, as well. More details about the raffle will be available on the Austin Landing events website.
Because all this fun is bound to make you hungry, you'll have to check out one of the many food trucks scheduled to be there. At press time, participating trucks were Mike's Nashville Hot, Cold Stone Creamery, El Meson, Carvaso's, Greek Street, Pit to Plate BBQ, Hunger Paynes, 1776 Grill, Patriot Grill, Cupzilla-Korean BBQ, and Hickory River Smokehouse. Check the Austin Landing website for a current list of vendors.
All of this fun comes at the low price of just $5 per ticket. You can purchase tickets online in advance or at the door. You'll need cash for entry at the door and for food and drinks during the event.
You’re welcome to bring your pets on leashes and your own lawn chairs or blankets to sit on. Coolers are not allowed. Remember that the event is outdoors, so dress for the weather. Parking is available at the parking garage adjacent to the event area or behind Progress Park Tower.
