LEGO Convention coming to Dayton in August

The BrickUniverse LEGO Fan Convention is coming to Dayton for the first time ever later this summer.

The convention will stop in town on Aug. 18 and 19 at the Dayton Convention Center, according to a press release from the BrickUniverse LEGO Fan Convention.

The event will include a Building Zone where attendees can build their own creations, a Big Brick Building with larger Duplo bricks so that younger kids can get in on the building fun and a Star Wars Zone with LEGO Star Wars-themed bricks.

LEGO artists Jonathan Lopes and Rocco Buttliere will also be in attendance, according to the release. The pair will showcase nearly 100 LEGO displays.

The convention will feature live LEGO builds, a LEGO retail space and LEGO Friends Building Area as well, read the release.

Tickets are available for Aug. 18 or 19. There are two sessions for each date, one from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and a second from 2 to 5 p.m.
