City OK'd 6-month moratorium after Ohio voters approved drug

The banning of permits for medical marijuana businesses in Miamisburg is expected to be extended.

A recommendation to lengthen a moratorium on approving permits for those businesses now allowed after last year's ballot issue passage by Ohio voters is expected to go to the Miamisburg City Council next month.

Miamisburg was among a number of cities in the area to put a moratorium on the marijuana issue when it approved a six-month ban in August.

City Planner Ryan Homsi said a number of issues need to be clarified at the state and federal levels before Miamisburg can take action on guidelines for medical marijuana businesses.
