The coronavirus pandemic threw a wrench into the restaurant’s original plans, which called for a May opening, and it will almost certainly affect its seating capacity. Initially, company officials said their plans for the 3,859-square-foot restaurant called for seating about 173 inside and another 80 on a patio, Condado Tacos officials said. The Condado Tacos spokeswoman said she did not yet have updated projections for opening day in light of social-distancing requirements.

The restaurant will open its dining room and patio for reservations only. The company’s web site says it is requiring reservations and not accepting walk-ins at all of its restaurants currently, for safety reasons.

Condado Tacos will move into space that previously housed EO Burgers.

Original plans called for a staff of 60 to 80; it’s not clear yet what impact the reduced seating capacity will have on the number of employees hired, a spokeswoman said.

The Columbus-based restaurant chain, which opened its first restaurant in 2014, now has 16 locations in Columbus, Cleveland, Cincinnati, Pittsburgh, Indianapolis and Detroit, and will debut its first Dayton-area location this July at 4482 Glengarry Dr. Beavercreek. The restaurant will feature “street-art from local Dayton artists, depicting some of the inventions that have come out of Dayton,” according to a Condado Tacos release.
