Carillon Tree of Light more than 200 feet tall with 20,000 lights illuminates Carillon Historical Park

The Carillon Park Tree of Light is now illuminated for the 2018 holiday season as the switch was flipped during a special ceremony Wednesday night as part of the park’s A Carillon Christmas.

News Center 7’s Kate Bartley and Storm Center 7 Meteorologist Kirstie Zontini hosted the event.

The 200 foot tall Tree of Light was lit just after 6 p.m.

A Carillon Christmas will be open every night through Dec. 30, with the exception of Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

Organizers at Carillon Park lit the bell tower Wednesday as the city's largest Christmas Tree.

Event Hours:

Sunday-Thursday: 5 p.m. through 9 p.m.

Friday and Saturday: 5 p.m. through 10 p.m.

The Tree of Light is constructed from 100 individual light strands and is made up of 20,000 light bulbs.

Wednesday’s tree lighting event also featured a concert of holiday music.
