There’s so much to be excited about if you’re a foodie living in Dayton.
November saw a number of announcements of new eateries coming to the area.
Here’s what you need to know about the 7 restaurants that announced they’d be opening soon.
The Famous Restaurant
New details are emerging about “The Famous Restaurant,” which is under development by the owners of Doubleday’s Grill and Tavern at the former Paddy’s Irish Grill at 953 S. Main St. in Centerville.
Owners have left tantalizing clues about the new restaurant concept on a “The Famous Restaurant” Facebook page launched by the business.
“Coming to Centerville in early 2018: Inspired by three generations of culinary craft, The Famous Restaurant promises a modern take on a legendary Pottsville, PA family staple. The food makes it The Famous Restaurant,” owners said in an Oct. 31 post.
Double Deuce Tavern & Family Pizzeria
A family-friendly tavern and pizzeria is gearing up to open in its new home in a high-profile spot in Huber Heights.
Double Deuce Tavern & Family Pizzeria, formerly located in north Dayton, has renovated the former site of C’s Pizza at 5186 Brandt Pike (State Route 201). A specific opening date has not yet been set.
A restaurant that has operated for decades at the Dayton Mall is gearing up to open a second location in Centerville.
The Dayton area’s second Steak Escape is in the works at 6201 Wilmington Pike at Clyo Road near Miami Valley Hospital South. The restaurant will seat up to 30, will have a drive-through, will deliver, and will offer catering, Steak Escape co-owner and director of operations Michael Jraisat told this news outlet.
The Bourbon Bayou Bistro
A fourth Dayton-area food truck has set its sights on opening a brick-and-mortar restaurant.
The Bourbon Bayou Bistro is in the works at 607 N. Detroit St. in Xenia, in space that previously housed a Stan The Donut Man shop.
And Xenia residents can get a taste of what’s in store at the new restaurant: The Bourbon Bayou Bistro food truck is setting up shop at the North Detroit Street venue seven days a week while work is underway on the bricks-and-mortar restaurant.
El Rancho Grande Mexican Grill & Cantina
A new restaurant is in the works in the Cross Pointe Centre in Centerville, and it will fill space that has not had a full-time tenant in as long as two years.
El Rancho Grande Mexican Grill & Cantina is in the early stages of construction of its eighth Dayton-area restaurant in the large retail center on Alex-Bell Road east of Far Hills Avenue (Ohio 48), El Rancho Grande President of Operations Gary Rodriguez told this news outlet.
An independently-owned restaurant in the works in Beavercreek is now targeting Dec. 15 for its grand opening, its co-owner says.
“Still, as always, (there are) challenges to overcome, but, they are fewer — and I believe we will be ready,” Flyboys Deli co-owner Steve Crandall said today about the 7,403-square-foot restaurant located outside of the main entrance to the Mall at Fairfield Commons.
This will be the second location for Flyboys, which operates a restaurant at 2515 Far Hills Ave. in Oakwood.
