*NSYNC singer spotted in Oregon District, at Wright State

Lance Bass’ very busy day in Dayton included a visit to one of the Oregon District’s chillest patios.

Bass and members of the Hillary Clinton presidential campaign stopped by Wheat Penny Oven and Bar, 515 Wayne Ave., Monday, according to Elizabeth Valenti, the restaurant’s chef.

“What a cool surprise,”  Valenti said in a Facebook message.

Bass was photographed with Wheat Penny employees and on its patio.

The *NSYNC singer also met with Wright State University students on the university's Quad and talked about why he supports Hillary Clinton, according to Petey L. Peterson, the university's director of LGBTQA Affairs.

Bass, who is gay, was with activist James Obergefell of Cincinnati, a film crew from LOGO TV and others.

Springboro resident Nicole Gangl called the meetings with Bass and Obergefell a great experience.

The 22-year-old was interviewed by LOGO about being a transgender lesbian and the importance of voting.

Today is National Voter's Registration Day.

Gangl said she was particularly happy to meet Obergefell.

"I have so much respect for the person who earned me the right to marry,” she said.

In 2013, Obergefell and his husband John Arthur challenged Ohio’s ban on same-sex marriage.  Arthur died of Lou Gehrig’s disease a few months later.

The couple’s case helped lead the U.S. Supreme Court in 2015 to sweep away the last bans on same-sex marriage in Ohio and 12 other states.

Ummmm… so yeah, one of the most popular members of *NSYNC was totally in the Dayton area today.

We are still trying to figure out why legendary boy band member Lance Bass was at Wright State University.

Bass, who is set to appear at a debate watch party for Democratic presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton in Columbus tonight, posted a photo to his Instagram page from Wright State University.

Well hello #wrightstateuniversity !!! #Ohio

Wright State spokeman Seth Bauguess said he did not know specifically why the entertainer was at Wright State.

Bass, who is gay, was also photographed on the university's Quad with a group of LGBTQA students, Bauguess said.

We emailed Petey L. Peterson, the university's director of LGBTQA Affairs, to learn more and are waiting to hear back.

LGBTQA stands for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer/questioning, asexual/aromantic/allies and/or advocates.

Celebrities have been flocking to the area in support of Clinton.

Jerry Springer was here earlier this month and “Will and Grace” star Debra Messing  was here today.

Cast members from  The West Wing were in Dayton for Clinton Saturday, as was actress America Ferrera.

Clinton is set to debate her Republican rival Donald Trump tonight at 9 p.m.
