Miami Twp. spent more than $5.2 million to pay its employees last year, according to data requested for the Dayton Daily News Payroll Project. The township paid 54 employees more than $50,000 in 2018, data shows.

1. Ronald Hess, police chief: $113,923.

2. Michael Siney, police sergeant: $112,512.

3. Jay Phares, police sergeant: $11,992.

4. Christopher Snyder, community development director: $102,224

5. Daniel Mayberry, public works director: $101,751.
