Businesses outside offering bargains aren’t the main attraction at Oxford’s annual Dog Days Sidewalk Sale.
The event, which took place Aug. 5, features a Puppy Parade with dogs of all sizes out for a stroll down the middle of High Street.
Judging also took place in five categories — biggest, smallest, longest tail, best costume and best trick.
Best Costume was won by Lainey, along with owner Tina Stroud, dressed as the carrier of a large cupcake and waitress, respectively.
The Best Trick contest drew the most appreciative applause from the crowd, with several dogs doing a series of things like sitting, lying down, rolling over but there were several inventive ones. That contest ended in a tie between Lily, a small dog who jumped through a hoop, and Fifi, who hopped on her back feet as a treat was held high.
