Sandwich goals: Why you must try this gigantic new sandwich at Primanti Bros.

For a limited time, the Primanti Bros. Restaurant and Bar is celebrating Sidney Crosby’s 1,000th NHL career point by introducing The Captain Sandwich.

What is it, you ask? Capicola, flanked by turkey and roast beef and topped with a record setting pile of cheese, fries, slaw and tomato.

Sid’s about as big a part of this community as anyone,” said Toni Haggerty, iconic staple of Primanti Bros. of Pittsburgh. “He’s on the mural on the wall – and now, we’ve got a sandwich for him on the grill.”

The original location of the Primanti Bros. Restaurant and Bar is located in the historic Strip District of Pittsburgh. Crosby’s recent 1,000th NHL career point was just a few days ago as he played with the Pittsburgh Penguins against the Winnipeg Jets, a team based out of Canada.
