Support local artisans: Give a unique gift or treat yourself with ‘Dayton-maker bundles’

A Dayton business, tend & flourish, is selling batches of unique gifts to support the local artists who made them.

Katherine Edmondson founded tend & flourish two years ago, a collective of 30 small women-owned art and wellness businesses housed at 1906 Brown St.

The coronavirus pandemic has temporarily shuttered the studio, classroom and retail space.

“We are completely reliant on the community to stay alive,” Edmondson said. “Now that we are closed as non-essential, we don’t have a way to support our community.”

To advocate for the businesses, Edmondson has assembled a dozen “Dayton-maker bundles” for purchase.

The batches of one-of-a-kind items make great gifts for Mother’s Day, graduations and birthdays or a needed pick-me-up.

Each bundle has a different theme and color coordination with prices ranging from $50 to $80.

Among the choices is the “Healing Art” bundle ($70), a combination of a Frida Kahlo tote by Ixchel Studio, elderberry syrup from Liv Natually Co., Healing Foot Cream from The Color of Amber and a rose quartz bracelet made by Mandi Beam.

The “Feel The Heat” bundle ($60) is made up of a bottle of Love oil blend and a soy candle from Naturally Inspired Botanics, a root chakra patch from Starseed and a red fabric bottle carrier and bottle made by JARAF.

“They are aesthetically pleasing and useful and directly support three to five local artisans with each purchase,” Edmondson said. “That money is going directly back to a local maker.”

Edmondson is revealing two different bundles on the tend & flourish Facebook and Instagram pages each day. Gift wrapping is available and there is free delivery within 15 miles.

To order, direct message tend & flourish on Facebook or Instagram.
