The polls are open! Here’s how to vote in Best of Dayton 2018

EDITOR’S NOTE: Best of Dayton VOTING is back!  We launched voting for Dayton.com’s Best of 2018 contest on Wednesday, Dec. 5. Within hours, our servers were overwhelmed by the volume of votes. Many users experienced difficulty casting votes or progressing from one category to another.  We’ve been working around the clock to resolve this issue and have made some upgrades to help improve the voting experience. The contest has resumed, and we are extending the voting period through Dec. 26 to give everyone a few extra days of voting.  Any votes cast on Dec. 5 were recorded and will still count toward the total. Be sure to refresh your page on your desktop or mobile device before you get started so you get all of the updates. Happy voting! Please contact us at contact@dayton.com if you have any questions or issues.

The polls are officially open in Dayton.com’s Best of 2018 poll.

Now is the time to cast your votes in more than 130 categories.

But before you get started, let us extend a huge THANK YOU to all of you for helping us create this ballot showcasing some of Dayton’s most incredible restaurants, dishes, businesses, performers, do-gooders and more.

We are so proud to be able to support Dayton and celebrate some of the best things about life in the Gem City.

We received more than 100,000 nominations from you in November. Yes, you read that correctly!

Your nominations helped shape what you see here in this final ballot. The final choices were as tough for us as they were for you!

We also want to say thanks for keeping us entertained!

And as we combed through this year’s nominations, we especially appreciated the Miami Valley’s fine sense of humor, which was on full display in several categories.

Here’s a sampling of the nominations we received in the “Best Place to Meet Singles” category:

• The Montgomery County Health Department

• The Montgomery County Jail

• Woodland Cemetery

• “The sliced-cheese section of your local Kroger”

• “Oh tell me, please. I would love to know!”

Congratulations, finalists!

And happy voting Dayton.

HOW VOTING WORKS

Here’s what you need to know:

• Voting will run from Dec. 5 through Dec. 26.

• To cast your vote, you have to enter a valid email address.

• Once that step is complete, you can submit one vote per day per category in all categories throughout the nomination process. We have 133 contests and more than 40 are new.

• We encourage everyone to come back every day and vote once per day to help ensure you, your business, your friends or your most beloved places soar to the top.

• If you didn’t visit us during the nominations period in November, you will notice we have a new and improved voter experience this year.
