TORNADO AFTERMATH: Bane Staffing to deliver 700 free lunches today in hard-hit areas

A Dayton-area staffing business is delivering 700 free lunches to families affected by the Memorial Day tornadoes and to workers involved in the cleanup operations today, May 30, in communities in northern Montgomery County.

Bane Staffinga full-service staffing company with an office on Woodman Drive in Dayton, will distribute 700 Lee's Famous Recipe Fried Chicken lunches that the staffing company purchased, Bane Staffing and Lee's officials said. The meals will be handed out from a Bane Staffing van, company officials said this morning, Thursday, May 30. The Bane Staffing van will be driving through sections of north Dayton, Northridge and Brookville, according to a post on the Bane Staffing Facebook page.

“We can't imagine how it would feel to choose between paying for a hotel or feeding yourselves and children,” Bane Staffing President Sarah Bane-Martinez told this news outlet this morning. “Since we are in the HR business, we love people, and since we can't really roof, build or cut trees, we are able to provide warm meals and drinks and help in other ways.”

“There are so many volunteers, companies and families that the last thing they are thinking about is feeding themselves, so to help keep them fueled to keep working and keep energy for their families and children, that's where we come in.”
