Beavercreek, Springboro rank in Top 10 Ohio places to raise a family

Two area cities were listed in the top 10 best Ohio locations to raise a family and two ranked in the bottom 10 in the Buckeye State, according to a study.

Springboro and Beavercreek were ranked in the Top 10 of Ohio cities in the study released by WalletHub, a personal-finance website. The cities of Dayton and Trotwood were ranked in the bottom 10 of 186 cities listed.

WalletHub compared 186 cities across four key dimensions for the study using data from the U.S. Census, Bureau of Labor Statistics, FBI and Department of Housing and Urban Development among others. The categories ranked were:

• Family Life and Fun,

• Education, Health and Safety,

• Affordability and

• Socio-economics.

Springboro ranked the fifth best place in Ohio for families. It ranked highest in socio-economics (2nd) and affordability (5th).

Beavercreek rand the 10th best Ohio city. It ranked highest in affordability (3rd) and socio-economics (10th).

Near the bottom of the top ranked Ohio cities to raise a family was Trotwood which ranked 183. Dayton ranked 180.

Clayton (31) was the next highest ranked city in the Dayton region to raise a family.
