Melt Bar & Grilled now hiring for 1st Dayton-area restaurant

Melt Bar & Grilled is hosting a hiring fair all this week, through May 13, for its first Dayton-area restaurant at the Mall at Fairfield Commons in Beavercreek.

The restaurant is expected to hire about 60 employees, including hosts, servers, bartenders, line cooks and dishwashers, a Melt spokeswoman told this news outlet. The restaurant is slated to open June 12, the spokeswoman said. It will seat 140 inside and another 50 on a patio.

The hiring fair runs from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. today through Saturday, May 13. Prospective applicants can visit to obtain more information.

The 5,000-square-foot Melt is being built from the ground up at 2727 Fairfield Commons Drive, near the main entrance to the Fairfield Commons mall off North Fairfield Road. It will be the 13th restaurant for the Cleveland-based chain. Melt was founded in 2006.

Melt says in a release that it’s “not just a restaurant; it’s more of an event.”

To get a flavor of what Melt is about: Its December featured sandwich is the 6 Degrees of Kevin Bacon Melt, which consists of Hickory smoked bacon, black pepper-crusted bacon, maple bourbon glazed smoked pork belly, Italian pancetta, herb cream cheese with bacon bits, house made bacon-infused mayonnaise, sharp cheddar, and romaine and sliced tomato. Melt restaurants also serve craft beer and cocktails.

“We’re looking forward to serving the best gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches in the coolest environment that Dayton has ever seen,” Fish said in December, when the Beavercreek restaurant was announced. “We’re proud to have locations in Cleveland, Akron and Columbus and we can’t wait to get started in the Gem City.”
