A Middletown teen who died of an opioid overdose is being featured in the newest edition of Glamour magazine.

Alison “Allie” Shuemake, 18, died in August 2015 and her parents, Fred and Dorothy Shuemake said she overdosed of heroin in her obituary, a decision that made national news after it was first reported by this news outlet.
In Glamour, the magazine says opioids kill 31 women each day in the U.S. The special report details how the crisis is impacting women.
On the magazine’s website, there are pictures of 31 women, and Shuemake is the youngest.
