A 91-year-old Iowa man died at his home Wednesday, surrounded by family who told him that President Donald Trump was being impeached "so that he could rest in peace," according to KCCI in Des Moines.

"Corliss Gilchrist, was born May 7, 1925, in Ayrshire, Iowa, one of sixteen children born to James and Arrah Gilchrist," his obituary reads. "He passed away May 3, 2017, at his home in Altoona, IA. We told him the process to impeach Trump had begun - so that he could rest in peace."

The obituary, published in the Des Moines Register, said Gilchrist was a "stoic, hardworking, and simple man who had a joyful outlook on life, never taking things for granted."

This is not the first instance of family comforting a dying loved one with news of a fantasy Trump impeachment. Last month in Oregon, a woman told her 75-year-old husband on his deathbed that Trump had been impeached. "Upon hearing that he took his final, gentle breath, his earthly work concluded," according to an obituary for Michael Garland Elliott published in The Oregonian.

In September, a Georgia man who apparently could not face the prospect of either presidential candidate died at age 87 "not wanting to witness the results of the 2016 election and after determining nothing on television was worth watching anymore."
