A 9-year-old boy from Massachusetts died in a skiing accident in Montana, according to a release from the Gallatin County Sheriff's Office.
The boy died Tuesday at Big Sky Ski Resort in the southern part of the state near Wyoming.
His father reported him missing at 2:51 p.m. after going missing near Middle Road and Lobo Ski Run.
Shortly after the boy's father made the report, he was found dead in a tree well. The Sheriff's Office attribute the boy's death to blunt force injuries caused by hitting a tree on a steep slope.
