He used his great-grandfather's walker to get the keys that were hanging on a hook, then ran to the car and drove away. Stretching as much as he could to be able to see, he backed out of the driveway, drove through the neighborhood and then turned onto a four-lane road, KMSP reported.
Witnesses told police he drove erratically along the road, going about 10 to 15 MPH until he got to his destination and police caught up with him.
The Hyundai Santa Fe didn't come out of the trip unscathed. Sebastian hit a few mailboxes and a tree, according to KMSP.
Part of the vehicle’s bumper was left at a neighbor's home.
Luckily, no one was hurt, including Sebastian.
"I've never seen a driver this young before operating a vehicle," Capt. Mark Boerboom told KMSP.
Sebastian’s family is going to lock up the car keys and promise to keep an eye on the precocious 4-year-old.
