A crew working to demolish a run-down building discovered a colonial-era log cabin beneath layers of modern construction and siding.
The building, a condemned former bar, likely dates to the 1700s, WNEP reported.

"(The contractor) said it's very much salvageable and he couldn't believe it himself, what we uncovered here, and said it's very much worth saving," Frank Dombroski, Washingtonville town council president, told WNEP.
Officials now plan to carefully move the centuries-old cabin to another location and preserve it.
