The show, broadcast live from Los Angeles, will honor professional and amateur athletes and others who contribute to the sports scene.
One of those people is Rob Mendez, who will receive the Jimmy V Perseverance Award. Mendez, a high school football coach, was born without arms and legs.
The award was named for former North Carolina State Basketball coach Jim Valvano, who died from cancer in 1993.
NBA legend Bill Russell, 85, will be honored with the Arthur Ashe Courage Award. Russell holds the record for most NBA championships won by a single player, but, he is being honored for his support of civil rights causes.
Members of the U.S. women's soccer team will also make an appearance at the ceremony. They will fly in for The ESPYs in L.A. after a ticker-tape parade in New York on Wednesday morning.

Comedian Tracy Morgan will host the 2019 ESPY Awards. "I am very excited to be hosting the ESPYs,” Morgan said in a statement. “I hope my Uncle Sidney Poitier is there with my biological father Tony Dorsett and my second cousin Herschel Walker. And Bo Jackson, I want my two dollars back!"
