Indianapolis woman fatally stabbed nearly 12 years to the day after mother’s murder

An Indianapolis woman was fatally stabbed Sunday morning, nearly 12 years to the day after her mother was murdered, police said.

Vonda Wright, 53, died at an area hospital, WXIN reported. Her mother and two foster children died Sept. 16, 2007, the television station reported.

"I'm devastated, to say the least," Wright's cousin, Demetrice Bruno, told WXIN.

Flossie Wright, 60, Rodney Anderson, 16, and 10-year-old Demonte Norton, 10, were slain in 2007, the television station reported. Sean Wright, the son of Flossie Wright and brother of Vonda Wright, was convicted of all three murders and sentenced to 165 years in prison..

"It's a double tragedy for us and for it to be around the same time, it's so sad," Bruno told WXIN.

Police have not released any information about possible suspects or motives.
