Billboard reported that Madame Tussauds Las Vegas announced in a video narrated by Aaliyah's brother Rashad Haughton that the musician will be commemorated as a wax figure in the museum's throwback room.

Aaliyah died at age 22 in a plane crash on August 25, 2001. She was heading back to the US after shooting the music video for "Rock the Boat" in the Bahamas.
