According to CNN, the sheriff's office confirmed Quintal placed the call around 2:30 a.m. Oct. 17 asking for help and claiming she had shot one man in the face, but another man continued to shoot at her. She asked the friend to call police, but when they arrived at the cabin about 250 miles northwest of Detroit, Quintal could not be located.
Deputies did find bullet holes in the windows, spent shell casings, a handgun registered to Quintal and personal belongings, including her cell phone, purse and car, CNN reported.
Her cell phone and boots were actually found on the cabin's roof, the Free Press reported.
Neither blood nor evidence of injury was present at the cabin, CNN reported.
