According to KSNV, Jacob Davis, 8, was found dead in a pool, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department said late Saturday.
The news came just hours after the child reportedly vanished Saturday evening. Police believe Davis wandered away from his family's home near Mountain Vista Drive and East Russell Road shortly after 5 p.m., the Las Vegas Review-Journal reported.
Saturday was Davis' birthday, according to his missing poster.
The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department said their abuse and neglect department is investigating the case. KVVU reported that police say detectives believe it was an accidental drowning.
