Police: Florida man blew up ATM, failed to get any money

Authorities in Florida are searching for a man who they say was involved in the explosion of a bank’s ATM early Sunday morning.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office says the man used spray paint to block surveillance cameras from filming him. About an hour later, there was an explosion from the ATM.

The suspect was unable to gain access to the ATM's internal safe, so no money was stolen, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office.

The man was caught on another surveillance camera walking away from the scene. He was wearing a dark blue hoodie and black pants. The images were posted on the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office Facebook page.A similar incident took place in November at a bank in nearby Oldsmar, officials said. The Pinellas County Sheriff's Office continues to investigate that incident, WWSB reported.
