Officials at Fiat Chrysler said that a fastener that is used to ground the battery wasn't attached correctly during the manufacturing process. It can come loose and disable power steering, according to the AP.
Drivers are able to steer the truck, but it could take inconsistent effort.
The fastener will be secured at no cost to owners. The recall is expected to start within 60 days. Officials with the company said about a third of the trucks are still for sale at dealers, the AP reported.
