A successful launch would mark SpaceX's first national security space mission for the United States, Reuters reported.
The launch attempt follows the formal announcement this week of the Space Force, a new branch of the military created by order of President Donald Trump. Vice President Mike Pence visited Florida's Space Coast Tuesday, WFTV reported.
