University of Tulsa football players found with rifle, marijuana in dorm room

Two University of Tulsa football players were arrested Wednesday morning after a rifle and a large amount of marijuana were found in their dorm room.

Tulsa police arrested Korey King and Lazarus May after security officers came to their room around midnight, FOX23 reported.

According to police, a University of Tulsa security officer found a strong smell of marijuana coming from a room in John Mabee Hall and opened the door to the room.

Inside they found 19-year-old Korey King and 18-year-old Lazarus May with what police later found to be 253 grams of marijuana and a Kel-Tec sub2000 9mm rifle. Three airsoft guns were also in the room.

Officers got a search warrant to confiscate the marijuana and the gun, FOX23 reported.

King and May were arrested and are facing charges for possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.

King is a wide receiver and May is a defensive end on the University of Tulsa football team.
